MeadowBank Lake
Meadowbank Lake is located between Hamilton and Ouse on the Lyile Highway
which takes about 1 hours drive from Hobart.
The lake lies in a rural district and is contained between grassy treeless hills. Access
along most shores is very easy.
Boat launching ramps, toilets and picnic areas are on the eastern side of the lake.
Dry fly fishing , spinning and trolling are very popular.
Mostly browns are taken with the odd rainbow which have come down from Lake King William.
Also now there are Adlantic Salmon which were released in the last two years. These fish
weigh up to 6kgs.
Other fish in the lake are Red Fin and Tench.
Water is clear but does get some discolour when snow water come down from the
highlands.
I have fly fished this lake and found it to be a very beautiful spot with some realy good
red spinner hatchers and polerioding in the shallows is just magic.
I always a enjoy my self there.
