Rose Cottage is a fine old home from a bygone era, set in almost 2 acres of garden, situated amongst peaceful farming and the finest sheep properties in Tasmania. A home with queen sized beds, full ensuites, with bedrooms heated by the latest in electronic appliances, and an open fireplace to ensure a warm and cosy stay all year round.

Rose Cottage at Epping Forest is just 15 minutes from Launceston airport and just 25 minutes from central Launceston, with its many attractions such as Cataract Gorge, Penny Royal and delightful cruises on the beautiful Tamar River.

Within easy driving distance, on quiet country roads, are the Western Tiers, the Great Lake, Cradle Mountain, King Solomon's Caves, and the historic towns of Evandale (home of the Internationally famous Penny-Farthing Bicycle Race), Longford, and of course all Northern Tasmania. And just a pleasant hour and a half drive to the premier vineyards of this beautiful island state.

To start your day off right, we will give you a fully cooked breakfast of American-style flap-jacks and hash browns complimented by farm fresh eggs and bacon and the usual accompaniments. And at the end of a long day (with some previous notice), you can enjoy a delicious gourmet home-cooked meal of local fare, set at an elegant dining table, complimented by local Tasmanian wines, before an open fire to create just the right atmosphere and ambience.

If you have had enough of the Cities and Towns, come home to a warm welcome at Rose Cottage and relax among friends and be pampered by your hosts Marlene and Bill. May we suggest you forget the Cities and just come home to Rose Cottage to the peace and serenity of the Heart of Tasmania.

As Rose Cottage is situated in the heart of rural Tasmania we are not surrounded by beautiful beaches, but what we offer, and will make sure you enjoy, is old fashioned service with courtesy, lively conversation, as you while away some time (long or short) and in friendly and very comfortable surroundings.
