Sheila Noon I was born in Bangor, Co. Down. Northern Ireland and came to Australia as a young person, settling in Melbourne. I married an Australian and we lived in Melbourne.

I co-owned a fashion boutique and worked in it for over 20 years. I had always wanted to paint, especially portraits, but never had time.

We moved to Tasmania 7 years ago. It is a very beautiful place to live. We live by the Huon River at Cygnet, south of Hobart. At last I have time to paint.

I love painting people and paint in pastels and watercolour. I have always admired the Master Painters (i.e. Degas, Renoir, Manet, Whistler, Toulouse-Lautrec) who painted so beautifully in pastel. And of course Australian artists such as Dobell, Tom Roberts, Robert Dickerson, George Callaghan who all have painted in pastel.

I am a Founding Member of the Tasmanian Pastel Society.

Since painting in Tasmania I have sold many paintings both here and on the mainland.

I have exhibited in the following:

Battery Point Group Exhibition Won Highly Commended Award
Carnegie Gallery Hobart Group Exhibition Won Best Painting Overall
