Old Bears and Dolls

This page is always being updated as many old dolls acquire clothing and make their public re-appearances.

These two dolls belong to family members. They are Roddy dolls and are about 40 years old.

These old Pedigree dolls have been re-strung and redressed.

This Simon and Halbig was found in pieces at a sale. She has been restrung and redressed.

The doll on the left is an old Japanese celluloid approx. 40 years old and the girl in blue is an early Australian doll made in Victoria.

 

 

The dolls on the left include a walking Pedigree at the back and two Kader dolls on the right. The old baby doll in the centre without any clothes is a composition.

 

The little monkey on the bicycle below is believed to be a Steiff

The 3 bears below belong to various members of the family. The old bear in the middle is believed to be a Steiff and is approximately 68 years old. The other two are still in the same condition as they were played with 40 years ago.

 

 

 

 

The pictures of the old bears were part of a display in a local jewellery shop window. The bears including an early Steiff belong to three generations of the family.

 

 

 

 

 

The photo on the left is a collection of old koalas,which used to be made from kangaroo skins.
