Our family has an extensive collection of antique sewing machines, children's sewing machines, old buttons, clothing and haberdashery. Many of these items have been obtained from garage sales, auctions and some have been kindly donated as gifts.

The outfit on the model consists of an exquisite black jacket with extensive tatting detail. It is fastened internally with hooks and eyes. |

The old doll shown below is actually a sewing basket. Her skirt is hollow and underneath is an open round basket lined with the same fabric as the dress. |
The mahogany sewing box is silk lined and is in excellent condition. |

We also have a large collection of thimbles. These consist of sterling silver, ceramic,ivory and plastic items. |
Some of the collection of hat pins and flowers shown below have been used in dressing dolls. |

The child's sewing machines below are(L to R): Singer, Casige and Peter Pan. The Peter Pan is an Australian made machine. |
The machines below are(L to R): Vulcan, Singer and Lewenstein. |

The machines below are a brand called Comet. They were made in Britain. |

This sewing machine is just one of many in our collection. It is a Vickers made in Great Britain by the same company that made the Vickers Vimy aeroplane. |
