About the Author
Dr Ian Broinowski (PhD, MEd, BA(Soc Wk), Dip Teach) is currently an advanced skills teacher in community services at the Institute of TAFE Tasmania. He teaches a wide range of subjects in aged care, disability services, children services, community and youth work. He worked for a period as a house parent in Bristol, England and Northern Ireland. He has also held positions as a child welfare officer in Tasmania and NSW. His publications include Managing Child Care Centres (1994), Child Care Social Policy (1994), Tikiri an adult learning experience (1996) and Creative Childcare Practice: Program Design in Early Childhood (2002). He completed his PhD with the UNISA in 2002 in which he examined the relationship between enchantment, imagination and creativity and the work of an the early childhood worker .
