Another success story of trans Tasman cooperation, I crossed one of Jeff Jurlina's double reds with a double red of my own that resulted from Mrs. Betty Ranicar X slatey grey originally from Barbara Knowles, another New Zealand breeder with a fine eye.
We have selected two plants from this cross to constitute the strain, one slightly darker than the other but both good substantial doubles with slatey petaloids.
