CALL FOR ABSTRACTS
INSTRUCTIONS FOR PREPARATION OF ABSTRACTS
CONTENT
The body of the abstract should contain:
An introduction including the study hypothesis:

A statement of methods
-
The results including statistics
-
A statement of conclusions reached and their significance. It is not
satisfactory to state "results will be discussed" or "data will be
presented".

Case reports may be acceptable, although the onus is on the author to
demonstrate the significance of the report.

Descriptive reports may also be acceptable, but they should follow the
above guidelines and the onus is on the author to demonstrate the importance of
the report
Abstracts should be prepared in the following manner:

The abstract will appear in print exactly as submitted by you.

Prepare one original and two copies
-
Abstracts must be printed on a sheet of white A4 paper within an area of
13cm wide x 18cm deep. ( Lines around this area should not be drawn).

Use Times Roman 11 font if possible - no smaller font size should be
used.

Laser print quality or similar is required
-
Use single line spacing
-
Title should be capitals and at the top of the abstract.

Author's names should follow immediately after the title. Initials should
preceed the surname. The name of the presenter should indicated by an asterisk
(*). The author's names should be followed by full postal address.

Abbreviations may be used but must be spelt out in full at the first
mention followed by the abbreviation in parentheses.

Tables and figures may be included, but must fit within the space
allocated.

All abstracts must be mailed flat, accompanied by the computer disk version
in a format compatible to WORD ^ or text -only format for IBM. Please ensure
that the disk is labelled with the presenter's name.
STYLE OF PRESENTATION
Your abstract can be considered for an oral presentation or a poster presentation.
Please indicate your preference. Written confirmation of your presentation will
be forwarded by September 25, 1998.
CLOSING DATE FOR ABSTRACTS : AUGUST 28, 1998
