Where are the followers. --- Is there a coming back for Jesus
A companion shares all the way, the rest for only part of the way.
Quran Reference
One is not like the other. One is a companion, the other believes what is but a wish.
57:26. And We verily sent Noah and Abraham and placed the Prophethood and the Scripture among their seed, and among them there is he who goeth right, but many of them are evil-livers.
57: 27. Then We caused Our messengers to follow in their footsteps; and We caused Jesus, son of Mary, to follow, and gave him the Gospel, and placed compassion and mercy in the hearts of those who followed him. But monasticism they invented. We ordained it not for them. Only seeking Allah's pleasure, and they observed it not with right observance. So We give those of them who believe their reward, but many of them are evil-livers.
4:111. Whoever commits a sin, he commits it against his own soul. Allah is knowledgeable, Wise.
4:112. But if anyone commits a crime and charges an innocent person with it, he indeed shall bear the guilt of slander and a flagrant sin.
17:84. Say: Each one doth according to his rule of conduct, and thy Lord is best aware of him whose way is right.
17: 85. They will ask you concerning the Spirit. Say: The Spirit is by command of my Lord, and of knowledge ye have been vouchsafed but little.

Bismillah
Allah : The ONE Creator and Sustainer of all that is,....
The Sublime Divinity.
24-35_ Allah is the radiance of the skies and the earth. The similitude of His radiance is as a niche wherein is a lamp. The lamp is in a glass. The glass is as it were a shining star kindled from a blessed tree, an olive neither of the East nor of the West, whose oil would almost glow forth though no fire touched it. Light upon radiance, Allah guides unto His light whom He will. And Allah speaks to mankind in similitude, for Allah is knower of all things.
46-3_ We created not the skies and the earth and all that is between them save with truth, and for a term appointed. But those who disbelieve turn away from that whereof they are warned.
65-12_ Allah is He Who created seven skies and of the earth a similar number. Through the midst of them descends His Command: that ye may know that Allah has power over all things and that Allah comprehends all things in Knowledge.
6-101_ He is the creator of the skies and the earth. How could He have a son when He has no consort? He has created everything and is aware of everything.
6-103_ No vision can grasp Him while He grasps all visions. He is the Subtle, the Aware.
2-255_ Allah! There is no Patron but Him: the Living, the Eternal. He neither slumbers nor sleeps. To Him belongs all that is in the Heavens and the Earth. Who can intercede with Him without His permission? He knows what is before them and what is behind them. They cannot gain access to any thing out of His knowledge except what He pleases. His throne is more vast than the heavens and the earth, and guarding of these both does not fatigue Him. He is the Exalted, the Supreme.
All the Prophets testify to their mission.
3-81_ Allah took the covenant with the Prophets, saying: "Now that you have been given the Book and Wisdom; there will come to you a Messenger who will confirm that which is with you; you will have to believe in him and help him in his mission." Then He said "Do you affirm this covenant and agree to take this heavy responsibility?" The Prophets replied, "Yes, we do affirm." Allah said, "Very well, bear witness to this and I too bear witness with you."
Many were the Prophets.
43-6_ But how many were the prophets We sent amongst the peoples of old?
43-7_ And never came there a prophet to them but they mocked him.
33-7_ And when We took from the Prophets their covenant, and from you, and from Noah, Abraham, Moses, and Jesus son of Mary. We took from them a strong covenant.
33-8_ That He may ask the truthfulness about their truth. And He has prepared for the disbelievers a painful torment.
33-7_ And when We took from the Prophets their covenant, and from you, and from Noah, Abraham, Moses, and Jesus son of Mary. We took from them a strong covenant.
33-8_ That He may ask the truthfulness about their truth. And He has prepared for the disbeliever a painful torment.
Jesus the Prophet.
3-48. And He ( Allah ) will teach him ( Jesus ) the Scripture and wisdom, and the Torah and the Gospel.
3-49. And will make him a messenger unto the children of Israel, (saying): Lo! I come unto you with a sign from your Lord. Lo! I fashion for you out of clay the likeness of a bird, and I breathe into it and it is a bird, by Allah's leave. I heal him who was born blind, and the leper, and I raise the dead, by Allah's leave. And I announce unto you what you eat and what you store up in your houses. Lo! herein verily is a portent for you, if you are believers.
5-46_ And We caused Jesus, son of Mary, to follow in their footsteps, confirming that which was (revealed) before him, and We bestowed on him the Gospel wherein is guidance and a light, confirming that which was before it in the Torah a guidance and an admonition unto those who ward off (evil).
3-55. (And remember) when Allah said: O Jesus! Lo! I am gathering thee and causing thee to ascend unto Me, and am cleansing thee of those who disbelieve and am setting those who follow thee above those who disbelieve until the Day of Resurrection. Then unto Me you will (all) return, and I shall judge between you as to that wherein you used to differ.
5-75_ The Messiah, son of Mary, was no more than a Messenger; many were the Messengers that passed away before him. His mother was a believer. They both used to eat food. Look how We make the signs clear to them, yet look how they are deluded away.
Mother of the Messiah.
3-45_ When the angels said "O Mary! Allah gives you the good news with a Word from Him that you will be given a son: his name will be Messiah, Jesus Christ the son of Mary. He will be noble in this world and the Hereafter; and he will be from those who are very close to Allah.
3-46_ He will speak to the people in the cradle and in his manhood and he will be among the righteous.
Man reaches maturity.
46-15_ We have enjoined man to treat his parents with kindness. With much trouble his mother bore him, and much pain did she give him birth. His bearing and his weaning took thirty months. When he reaches the age of full strength and becomes forty years old, he says: My Sustainer! Grant me the grace that I may thank you for the favors which You have bestowed on me and on my parents, and that I may do good deeds that will please You, and grant me good children. Surely I turn to You in repentance and surely I am of those who are Muslims.
Jesus in the cradle.
19-30_ Whereupon the baby spoke out: I am indeed a servant of Allah. He has given me the Book and made me a Prophet.
19-31_ His blessing is with me wherever I go. He has commanded me to establish the remembrance of Allah and give Charity as long as I shall live.
19-32_ He has exhorted me to honor my mother and has not made me domineering, hard to deal with.
19-33_ Peace be upon me the day I was born, the day I shall die and the Day I shall be raised to life again".
19-34_ Such was Jesus the son of Mary, and this is the True statement about him concerning which they are in doubt.
19-35_ It is not befitting to the majesty of Allah that He Himself should beget a son! He is far above this; for when He decrees a matter He need only say: "Be" and it is.
19-36_ Jesus declared, Verily Allah is my Sustainer and your Sustainer: therefore serve Him. This is a Right Way.
Jesus the Prophet is grown up.
43-63_ When Jesus came with clear proofs, he said: I have come unto you with wisdom, and to make plain some of that concerning which ye differ. So keep your duty to Allah, and obey me.
43-64_ Lo! Allah, He is my Sustainer and your Sustainer. So worship Him. This is a right path.
3-50_ And I come confirming that which was before me of the Torah, and to make lawful some of that which was forbidden unto you. I come unto you with a sign from your Sustainer, so keep your duty to Allah and obey me.
61-6_ And remember when Jesus the son of Mary said: "O children of Israel! I am the Messenger of Allah towards you, confirming the Torah which came before me, and to give you good news of a Messenger that will come after me whose name shall be Ahmed." But when he came to them with clear signs, they said "This is plain magic."
Immortality.
4-157_ They even say: "We have killed the Messiah, Jesus son of Mary the messenger of Allah." Whereas in fact, neither did they kill him nor did they crucify him but they thought they did because the matter was made dubious for them. Those who differ therein are only in doubt. They have no real knowledge, they follow nothing but merely a conjecture, certainly they did not kill him.
4-158_ Nay! The fact is that Allah took him up to Himself. Allah is Mighty, Wise.
4-159_ There is none of the People of the Book but will believe in this fact before his death; and on the Day of Resurrection Jesus will bear witness against them.
( The Jews are '' the people of the book '' from the Torah. They do not recognise Jesus or believe as above in Surah 4-157, 4-158. )
Man from man.
3-59_ This similitude of Jesus before Allah is as that of Adam: He created him from dust then said to him: "Be" and he was.
3-79. It is not (possible) for any human being unto whom Allah had given the Scripture and wisdom and the Prophethood that he should afterwards have said unto mankind: Be slaves of me instead of Allah; but (what he said was): Be you faithful servants of the Lord by virtue of your constant teaching of the Scripture and of your constant study thereof.
Muslims.
3-84_ Say: We believe in Allâh and in what has been sent down to us, and what was sent down to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob and the twelve sons of Jacob and what was given to Moses, Jesus and the Prophets from their Sustainer. We make no distinction between one another among them and to Him (Allâh) we have submitted.
25-20_ And We never sent before you (Muhammad) any of the Messengers but verily, they ate food and walked in the markets. And We have made some of you as a trial for others: will you have patience? And your Sustainer is Ever All-Seeing.
22-67_ To every nation We have prescribed the rites of worship which they observe, therefore, let them not dispute with you concerning this matter - keep calling them to the Way of your Sustainer; for most surely you are rightly guided.
4-171_ O People of the Book! Do not transgress the limits of your religion * (restoration). Speak nothing but the Truth about Allah. The Messiah, Jesus the son of Mary was no more than a messenger of Allah and His Word "Be" which He bestowed on Mary and a Spirit from Him which took the shape of a child in her womb. So believe in Allah and His messenger and do not say: "Trinity"." Stop saying that, it is better for you. Allah is only One Deity. He is far above from the need of having a son! To Him belongs all that is in the skies and in the Earth. Allah Alone is sufficient for protection.
4-172_ The Messiah never disdained to be the worshipper of Allah nor do the angels who are nearest to Allah. Whosoever disdains His worship and is arrogant will be brought before Him all together.
To die and not to die.
3-169_ Never think of those who are slain in the cause of Allah as dead. Nay they are alive, and well provided for by their Sustainer;
6-2_ HE it is Who created you from clay and then HE decreed a term. And there is another term fixed with HIM. Yet you doubt.
21-34_ And We granted not to any human being immortality before you (Muhammad), then if you die, would they live forever?
21-35_ Everyone is going to taste death, and We shall make a trial of you with evil and with good, and to Us you will be returned.
2-154_ Do not say about those who are slain in the cause of Allah that they are dead. Nay, they are alive, but you do not perceive it.
The end is the beginning of segregation.
56-4_ The earth shall be shaken with severe shaking
56-5_ and the mountains shall be made to crumble with awful crumbling
56-6_ and become like scattered dust.
56-7_ Then you shall be divided into three groups:
56-8_ those on the right hand - how blessed shall be the people of the right hand;
56-9_ those on the left hand - how damned shall be the people of the left hand;
56-10_ and foremost shall be the foremost.
56-11_ They will be nearest to Allah,
56-12_ in the gardens of bliss.
56-13_ Most of them will be from the former
56-14_ and a few from the later generations.
All the Prophets recount their mission.
5-109_ In the day when Allah gathers together the messengers, and saith: What was your response. they say: We have no knowledge. Lo! Thou, only Thou art the Knower of Things Hidden.
5-110_ When Allah saith: O Jesus, son of Mary! Remember My favor unto thee and unto thy mother; how I strengthened thee with the holy (revered) Spirit, so that thou spakest unto mankind in the cradle as in maturity; and how I taught thee the Scripture and Wisdom and the Torah and the Gospel; and how thou didst shape of clay as it were the likeness of a bird by My permission, and didst blow upon it and it was a bird by My permission, and thou didst heal him who was born blind and the leper by My permission; and how thou didst raise the dead, by My permission and how I restrained the Children of Israel from (harming) thee when thou camest unto them with clear proofs, and those of them who disbelieved exclaimed: This is naught else than mere magic.
5-116_ And when Allah saith: O Jesus, son of Mary! Didst thou say unto mankind: Take me and my mother for two gods beside Allah? he saith: Be glorified It was not mine to utter that to which I had no right. If I used to say it, then Thou knew it. Thou know what is in my mind, and I know not what is in Thy mind. Lo! Thou, only Thou art the Knower of Things Hidden.
5-117_ I spoke unto them only that which Thou commanded me : Worship Allah, my Sustainer and your Sustainer. I was a witness of them while I dwelt among them, and when Thou took me Thou wast the Watcher over them. Thou art Witness over all things.
5-118_ If Thou punish them, lo! they are Thy slaves, and if Thou forgive them. Lo! Thou, only Thou art the Mighty, the Wise.
5-119_ Allah saith: This is a day in which their truthfulness profited the truthful, for theirs are Gardens underneath which rivers flow, wherein they are secure for ever, Allah taking pleasure in them and they in Him. That is the great triumph.
5-120_ Unto Allah belongs the Sovereignty of the skies and the earth and whatsoever is therein, and He is Able to do all things.
In conclusion:
From what is recorded in Quran one can derive the understanding that in the end, questions must be answered by everyone including Prophets.
Jesus was one of those who surrendered to His creator and did not die.
Like all that are Muslims, they do not die but are with Allah if they are not on earth.
As one of the foremost, Jesus is one of the lesser number of Souls that are nearest to Allah.
If Jesus were to return at any time before the end, he would become aware of the intervening events since His absence and when questioned at the end he would have the knowledge of the matters done in his name.
When Allah intends a thing, He need only to say onto it ' BE ' and it is.
Allah is Self Sufficient, the Sustainer of his creation and not the Sustained.
