George and his mate Arthur Millington began to tackle the
arduous job of clearing the ground and digging the clay soil.

The car in the ditch shows the condition of the area where
our new home in Pascoe Vale was built.

This is actually the street we saw looking out from our front gate.
Today this new Melbourne suburb is a densely populated
and thriving area.

 I guess they deserved a break :-)

Meanwhile housework always kept me busy - and out of their way.
So they kept telling me LOL
