The Historic Village ~ Richmond ~ Tasmania

A BEAUTIFUL AND CHARMING VILLAGE

NESTLING IN THE HILLS

On the Left - famous Bridge of Richmond, steeped in History.

On the Right - Richmond is at the tip of the yellow at bottom of map.

Richmond is less than an half hour drive from Hobart.

Visiting this beautiful Georgian village transports you back to an earlier time.

Situated on the banks of a river once called Sweetwater; until the discovery of
coal along the banks of the river.

After that it was re-named Coal River.

These pages will tell you something about the oldest settlement in Australia.

I do hope you have a pleasant tour.

Recent additions have been added to some pages, my Granddaughter and
I toured around for photos for these pages, but unfortunately they are
most difficult to get.

Trees, shrubs and not to forget to mention - homes and roadways
have encroached so much.
