Midi Playing - Just As I Am. *God's Beautiful Children* <> <> <><> "Down's Syndrome People" * If you have met any Down's Syndrome people you will feel the "Simple Joy" that shines from them. I have been fortunate enough to have had contact with many of them. Two of them in particular have given me much joy. The first was when I was a member of the Police & Citizen's Youth Club. One of the volunteer chores I did for the club was to open the doors early once a week - to let a class of handicapped children into the gymnasium. One morning I was running late and they were waiting for me. One lad scolded me saying ... "Mrs S "you are late" When I said I was sorry I had slept in, he promptly forgave me with a huge hug! <> <> <><> *The second memorable moment was when my husband and I were on our tour around Australia. We visited a club to play the poker machines. We received a ticket when we bought our tub of coins. At midday the players all assembled for the drawing of the weekly prize. The son of the Manager was a Down's Syndrome teenager. He drew out my number & I went forward to receive my prize from the teenager. I gave him a big hug when he handed me the prize. He looked at everybody and said, with a big beam on his face ...
