Georgetown & Low Head
One of Australia's Oldest Towns
The Grove - An elegant Georgian home
Left, as it was in days of yore ... Right - as it is today.
Today it is opened to the public and unlike a lot of other historical homes
we can roam freely through the house and grounds.
Afternoon tea is served on the original dining room table, we just loved
the atmosphere, even the children enjoyed the visit so much, they
did not want to go home.
It was hard also to pull George away from the garden :-)
Why do I always have to play the party pooper? Duh!
Just a short drive away is the seaside village of Low Head, where
Tasmanians love to holiday, it is very popular - but the cold winds
blowing in from the sea are ...
... TOO cold for me:-(
Historic Pilot Station and Maritime Museum
and the lighthouse,
are very popular with photographers!
A short walk, around dusk, will take you to the Low Head Penguin
Colony, where you will see the Fairy Penguins in their
They are so cute as they waddle up from the water :-)
Thank you for visiting.
